Fade 04:08
Turn the wheels of my elation Wondering what this has begun Found the real from desperation Shaken core now lit the sun Take it away You will never change and Take me away from here You were meant to fade From the near now comes a distance What we tied has come undone Sense of new anticipation I’ll pick your bones burned in the sun The sun, the sun Yeah And take it away You will never change and Take me away from here You were meant to fade I never hated the end I face it kindly a friend I never, I never, I never wanted To waste this, I hate this, I’ll make this a promise Take it away You will never change And take me away from here You were meant to fade Yes you were meant to fade

Home 03:53
I've gone away to face these haunted years A wall I've made between these thoughts and fears So, wake me up from this illusion I’ve been stripped of all my cares So take me home I've drowned within my fears Afraid to be sincere And I've wasted all of these years, my dear Along the way my consciousness was steered Oh to a place, to where a heart can't heal Wake me up from this illusion I’ve been ripped of all my cares So take me home I've drowned within my fears Afraid to be sincere And I've wasted all of these years And I wanted to heal To heal my mistakes And I wanted to heal To heal my mistakes So take me home I've drowned within my fears Afraid to be sincere And I've wasted all of these years, my dear My dear

Take My Hand 04:38
One day you'll see there is a way to be yourself You've been so scared, never prepared to be yourself But I want you to know I'm here so Take my hand, I'll be a friend So take my hand, I'll be a friend Don't let them say there is no way to be yourself Never give in and you'll begin to be yourself But I want you to know I'm here so Take my hand, I'll be a friend So take my hand, I'll be a friend So take my hand, I'll be a friend So take my hand, I'll be a friend So take my hand, I'll be a friend So take my hand, I'll be a friend

Giants 04:05
Sail to me his lover said Patiently, I'll wait till you come back Stay with me my dearest friend Giants we, in distance to grasp I will be, I will be there when the rain gathers We will be, we will be together you and me I will be, I will be there when it most matters We will be, we will be together you and me I know Shelter me before sunset I have been afraid of the darkness Keep me close, no longer flesh Spirits we, subsistent oneness I will be, I will be there when the rain gathers We will be, we will be together you and me I will be, I will be there when it most matters We will be, we will be together you and me I know

My Pain 02:42
How they have lived splendid As I have lived ruined All of my wishes wounded Now I have given all my pain My pain How they, how they consume me And I’ll never be among them All of these stitches won’t heal me Now I will give them all my pain My pain Don’t break me down Don’t you break me down My pain Pain, pain, pain

Sleeper 04:40
Can you hear me, I the sleeper Idle dreamer, secret keeper? Can you hear the noiseless clamour? Drowning me within a void so cold And I have felt alone So easily disowned And I've built myself this tomb I sleep forever in stone Can you hear the sacred spirit? Songs of heroes, tales of merit Sung to me, a hopeless shadow Once so pure but now an empty hole And I have felt alone So easily disowned And I've built myself this tomb I sleep forever in stone I sleep forever in stone

Diamonds 03:42
I'm feeling broken under my skin Someday my friend I'll hear the ashes calling me I hear the silence wash over me We are the diamonds lost in the sea (Yo-oh-woah-oh) There is a lesson we learn to live Keep close this moment for in the end that's all there is I hear the silence wash over me We are the diamonds lost in the sea (Yo-oh) I feel it washing over and I feel it washing over And I hear the silence wash over me We are the diamonds lost in the sea (Yeah, yeah) Lost in the sea Lost in the sea (Yo-oh)

Tonight 04:23
Help me come back to reality and help me come back to... Help me come back to reality, I felt the winter sun upon the leaves and Help me come back to a place of ease, I wish this moment done And help me, help me, never be afraid So help me, help me tonight And hold me, hold me, keep me and never leave So hold me, hold me tonight Help me come back to reality, I felt the winter sun return the leaves and Help me come back to reality, I just wish to feel the sun And help me, help me, never be afraid So help me, help me tonight And hold me, hold me, keep me and never leave So hold me, hold me tonight Tonight Help me come back to reality and help me come back to... And help me, help me, never be afraid So help me, help me tonight And hold me, hold me, keep me and never leave So hold me, hold me tonight Tonight

Seasons 04:14
Seasons come and seasons go We the ashes of a home Reaching in the absence of light The wheels of meaning turning slow Feeling helpless in a hole Grasping in the ever fading light The night I see you there, come to me I will set you free I see you there trembling in the night The night Seasons come and seasons go We the absence of a home Fostered feelings healing in the night The wheels of meaning turning slow Keep these feelings in a hole Grasping in the ever fading light The night I see you there, come to me I will set you free I see you there trembling in the night The night Don't let me go, I don't wanna be all alone and It's better with your heart in mine (In mine) and I've built a home, it's stronger with your bones and It's better with your heart in mine (In mine) In mine I see you there, come to me I will set you free I see you there, trembling in the night

about

A message from Jeff:
Late Kings debut self titled album can be summarized both sonically and lyrically as a journey through the human psyche, from an individual who has faced crises, has been dismantled and is reborn as a new, more integrated self. It faces themes of understanding loss, facing depression, and dealing with feelings of aggression in a healthy and transformative way. From tracks like "Fade", where one’s life has been abruptly uprooted, to "My Pain", where an individual finds new strength in their sense of aloneness, and finally to "Seasons", where the individual has come to the full realization and acceptance of life's impermanent nature.

Musically, an air of angst lends not only to the aforementioned lyrical content, but harkens back to the 90’s when melancholia was King, and times for the bands members were much simpler. From front to back it teems with nostalgia and the yearning for the straight forward Americana that has long since faded. Through this album, the band members hope that it’s listeners might be comforted in times of hardship, and find the strength to face a fast changing world with dignity and self assurance.
